The United Congregation of Israelites, Jamaica, was formed by the uniting of the Sephardi (Spanish and Portuguese) and the Ashkenazi (English and German) congregations in 1921.
Jamaican Jews, over the centuries, have participated in aspects to economic, cultural and social life. This included the professions, mercantilism and the arts and culture.
